Sinan CANAN

Sinan Canan was born in Ankara in 1972. Graduated from Hacettepe University Biology Department in 1995. He's done his MSc in Histology and Embryology department and PhD in Medical Phsyiology Department of Medical School of Ondokuz Mayis University, Samsun. He became an Associate Professor in Medical Physiology in 2010. He studied and worked in different instituitons, including Bartholin Institute Neurological Research Lab (Copenhagen, Denmark, 1998), Baskent University (Ankara, 2004-2009) and Yildirim Beyazit University (Ankara, 2010-2016). Dr. Canan generally preferred to work in multidisciplinary areas, including behavioral neuroscience, electrophysiology, chaos theory, complexity, fractal geometry and fractal behavior, evolutionary neuropsychology, language and learning.

He also founded the first public neuroscience education center, [n]Beyin ([n]Brain) in 2013 and has participated hundreds of public lectures, TV programs and educational activities across Turkey since then. He published several books and papers for the general public, including “Kimsenin Bilemeyeceği Şeyler” (The Things That No One Can Know, book, Tuti kitap, 2015), Değişen Beynim (My Changing Brain, book, Tuti kitap, 2015) and [n]Beyin Dergisi (periodic popular science magazine, since January, 2016) in Turkish language. Currently he is a full time professor in Uskudar University Psychology Department and also working as the head of scientific board of [n]Beyin.
